ESSENTIAL Wellness Program We are excited to introduce you to our ESSENTIAL Wellness Program here at Health Moves. At Health Moves, we are dedicated to partnering with you on your wellness journey by providing you with personalized care. The ESSENTIAL Wellness Program provides access to services typically not covered by insurance and helps cover the rising costs of personalized care. While we do require all patients billing insurance to choose a plan, we still bill your insurance for covered services. All patients of Health Moves that use their insurance will have the choice to enroll in either the ESSENTIAL Base (pay-as-you-go model) or the ESSENTIAL Plus. You will remain responsible for copays, deductibles, and co-insurance according to your insurance plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Health Moves ESSENTIAL Wellness Program is a hybrid fee model designed to fairly compensate our doctors for the necessary services and care coordination not covered by your health insurance. Services covered by insurance, such as office visits, will continue to be billed to your insurer. You will still be able to use your insurance for covered services, and will still be responsible for your co-payments, deductible and co-insurance according to your insurance plan. Time of Service services are available to program members but require separate payment and are not included in the ESSENTIAL Plus or ESSENTIAL Base program.

The ESSENTIAL Plus program is automatically charged to your payment method monthly on the same day of the month that you signed up initially. If your payment is declined, you have 30 days to update it before being switched to the ESSENTIAL Base.
The ESSENTIAL Base will be charged to your payment method on file at check in.

The ESSENTIAL Plus program is $29 a month. The monthly fee is slightly less than the cost of two standard burger and fries meals, or about one per week if you are a frequent latte drinker. The ESSENTIAL Base program is $49 per visit.

Health insurance plans have many detailed and complex criteria for what is and is not a covered service. Many of the services patients have come to appreciate and expect are not covered by some insurance plans. Instead of charging separate fees for these services, the $29 monthly fee makes it possible for us to continue to provide exceptional primary care services.

Yes, we will submit claims for covered visits, labs, and procedures exactly as before. You will remain responsible for copays, deductibles, and coinsurance. Your insurance covers the time the doctor spends with you and coordinating your care during the day of your visit.

All other components of your care that do not occur on that day or support provided by Health Moves staff are not covered by your insurance. The $29 per month is to cover non-billable services—this becomes the bridge that keeps naturopathic care sustainable.

If you elect to not join the ESSENTIAL Plus program by your second visit of 2026, then we will assume you have selected the ESSENTIAL Base option. The pay-as-you-go option is $49 per visit and may be the best option for patients who visit Health Moves once or twice a year.

We limit the number of spots per provider to 200–250 to ensure we can continue to provide exceptional care, including reserved time each day for urgent issues.

Yes! You can cancel at any time. To cancel please fill out the following form. It will take 7-10 days, and you will receive a confirmation message when the request is processed. The benefits will terminate at the end of the calendar month. If you decide to re-join, there might not be room in your provider panel, and you will be charged a $150 reactivation fee.

Yes! You can do this at any time. To switch please fill contact our office so they can share the agreement through our patient portal.  It will take 7-10 days, and you will receive a confirmation message when the request is processed. The benefits will terminate at the end of the calendar month. If you decide to re-join, there might not be room in your provider panel, and you will be charged a $150 reactivation fee.

There is no immediate penalty or fee to cancel the Health Moves ESSENTIAL Plus program or switch to the ESSENTIAL Base option; however, if you choose to re-enroll in the ESSENTIAL Plus program later, you will be charged a $150 reactivation fee. Furthermore, the practice limits the number of patients per doctor, meaning there is also a risk that a spot with your provider may not be available when you attempt to re-join.

Yes, the annual plan offers you 10% savings if paid annually. This is a great option for Health Moves regulars. The annual plan is ideal for regulars who want to lock in their spot and save, monthly works best for flexibility. Either way, one payment method handles everything automatically.

What if I pay out-of-pocket (self-pay)?” to have the text say: “Patients using the self-pay option are not required to join the ESSENTIAL Plus and ESSENTIAL Base. This includes self-pay services and services with Health Moves Consulting providers (Drs. Yarnell and Altman).

Yes! You have access to all the providers at Health Moves who offer a range of specialties and procedures.

We do not offer family or partner discounts at this time. The model is set at a per individual patient rate.
