Biography

Dr. Anna Bernieri earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University. Her clinical interests include primary care, women’s health and hormone therapy, gender-affirming care, environmental medicine and physical medicine. During her time at Bastyr, she pursued additional training in gastrointestinal health, fertility and contraception, craniosacral therapy, and Functional Medicine.

Dr. Anna believes that good medicine begins with making patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking questions and advocating for their needs. She values an evidence-informed, individualized approach to care, and enjoys working collaboratively with other providers and her patients to help them understand their health and to make decisions that feel realistic and sustainable in their lives. She is particularly passionate about creating an affirming healthcare environment for women and LGBTQ+ patients and providing care that considers the whole person rather than treating symptoms in isolation.

Originally from the East Coast, Dr. Anna studied anthropology and Spanish at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania before moving to the PNW to attend Bastyr University. She has spent time studying and working in South America, including working at a women’s empowerment nonprofit supporting Indigenous women in the Andes of Peru. Dr. Anna speaks Spanish, and welcomes the opportunity to provide care to Spanish-speaking patients. Her background in anthropology and experiences abroad continue to shape her appreciation for the social, cultural, and environmental factors that influence health.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Anna loves running, pilates, spending time with her partner and friends, and exploring the PNW. After growing up on the East Coast, she is happy to now call Washington home. After a long day, you can find her snuggled up on the couch with her partner, 2 cats and dog.
